Getting Started

OMAR provides deterministic orchestration for agentic workflows. Describe a task in Mission Control, review the team diagram, and confirm deployment.

Prerequisites

Install tmux 3.0+, Git, and at least one supported coding agent: Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor CLI, OpenCode, Google Antigravity CLI, or Pi.

Install

One-liner (recommended)

curl -fsSL https://omar.rs/install.sh | sh

Supports macOS and Linux; installs omar and omarc to /usr/local/bin by default.

Homebrew

brew install omar-os/omar/omar

Build from source

git clone https://github.com/omar-os/omar.git
cd omar
make install

Requires Rust 1.89+, GNU Make, Node.js 22.13+, and elan. make install builds Mission Control and the omarc compiler.

Launch Mission Control

omar up --name dev --web

Start an independent background session and open Mission Control in your browser. Describe a workflow, review the generated program, and confirm deployment to watch it run. Closing the browser leaves the session running.

Manage sessions

CommandBehavior
omar up --name devStart a session, or restart the stopped session with this name.
omar attach -s dev --webOpen the session in your browser; use --tui for the terminal UI.
omar down -s devStop the session and keep its state.
omar rm -s devRemove the session and its state, stopping it first if running.
omar lsList sessions.

Use omar --help for commands and omar <command> --help for options.

Choose a backend

Choose the backend for a new session’s initial assistant. Add --web or --tui to open a client immediately.

CommandBackend
omar -a claude up --name claudeClaude Code
omar -a codex up --name codexCodex CLI
omar -a cursor up --name cursorCursor CLI
omar -a opencode up --name opencodeOpenCode
omar -a agy up --name agyGoogle Antigravity CLI
omar -a pi up --name piPi

Terminal UI

omar attach -s dev --tui

Attach the terminal dashboard to the same session. Press z to detach and leave it running; Q stops the session after confirmation.
